Japan!

This summer, I will have the awesome opportunity to travel to Japan for 6 weeks as an exchange student. I have no idea where in the country I'll be, (or whether or not I'll have internet/phone available) but I'm still quite excited! I'll try to blog about it as much as possible!

Twins Home Opener

The Twins good luck year has come!

The new stadium is pretty much amazing (ok, so I haven't actually seen it yet, but it sounds pretty cool) and we won our home opener.

First home opener in the new stadium + winning = good sign.

Maybe the Twins will finally win another World Series this year and then we can rub all the Yankees fans faces in it.

Along with the fact that we got Mauer.

Go Twins!

ACT

Gah! I take the ACT on saturday and I'm only slightly freaking out. I just took a practice test and got 27, the average at my top school of the moment (Cornell) is in the 30's ><.

Basically, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do way better on the SATs then the ACTs (I did much better on the PSATs then the PLAN test) but who knows. I just need to stay focused and un-stressed. Is that even possible for me?

Not only are the ACTs on saturday, the SATs are in June, MCAs are next week, and the AP Bio test is next month. It's like bubble-test mania. (for those who don't know MCA's are Minnesota's standardized test... or something like that)

Why is it that I understand math so well in class, but on standardized tests, it just evades me. The world may never know.

Stupid Things I Thought When I Was Little

As the title of this post already so kindly tells you for me, this is just a list of the stupid/cute/funny things I thought when I was little. It's more for me to remember when I look back on this in thirty years (pshaw, like the internet will even be around in 30 years, will all BE computers by then, but that's a whole different story) but if anyone wants to read a lot of people find them quite humorous. So here we go!

Stupid Things I Thought When I Was Little

1)If you got married you'd automatically become pregnant but you could have a special type of marriage so that you wouldn't. I'm still not sure how I wrapped my mind around people having kids before marriage or having multiple children.

2)Amsterdam was called Hamsterdance (or Hamsterdam) like the song.

3)Hamster was spelled Hampster (I actually thought this until last year I think -.-)

4)Austria and Australia were the same place

5)I'd fall in love once and never fall out of it.

6)Santa had helpers that worked at all the malls. (Home Alone anybody?)

7)When you're driving, the car moves because you're hands are on the steering wheel. When my dad took his hands off and the car still moved I was very confused.

8)Dead ends were dangerous cliffs.

9)The wind that blows on you if the window is open while the car is moving was the air conditioning. I once asked my mom to turn it off.

10)It was windshield not windchill.

11)It sounded better for O to come before N in the alphabet.

12)Counting by 2's was the hardest thing ever.

13)Everyone that spoke different languages translated it to English in their head in order to understand it.

14)Once you became an adult all your character flaws disappeared.

15)Days were shorter in the winter because the earth spun faster.

16)I had tan skin, brown hair, and blue eyes.

17)When I was 7, I'd be old.

18)Being a cowgirl is a career.

19)a. Sex was kissing while naked (thought at age 6)
b. Sex was more than that but nothing ever went inside anything (thought at age 8)

20)You gave birth through the same hole you pee out of.

21)If I did the exercises on the "Pregnant Women Exercises" VHS tape my mom had, then I would get pregnant. (I did one of them once and was terrified to tell my mom because I thought I was preggers.)

22)Girls had little penises. I'm serious. I mean really think about it and you'll get where I was coming from.

23)Mom would read my diary. As revenge I'd write things in their that weren't true to purposefully freak her out. But on the same page I'd also write "Mom, this is just to freak you out" just in case she thought it was actually true.

I'll add more if I think of any, but this list is a lot longer than I thought it would be...

Marginal (Musical?) Prince

(Click on title for link to first episode)

Ok, so I started watching this anime and I decided I had to post about it. I've only watched two episodes, but so far it is one of the oddest things I have ever watched. The main character is a guy named Yuuta who enrolls in a boarding school that's on some island that's not on any maps called Alphonso Academy. (Yeah, that's very smart.) He meets these 5 other guys (Joshua, Henri, Red, Sylvain, another one whose name evades me right now) who each have their own distinct personality and are all, of course, bishonen. Besides that, I really have no idea what's going on. I'm pretty much just asking myself what the f*ck every five seconds. And still, there's more.

They sing.

Yes, apparently every episode shows a different character singing a song which only slightly goes with the plot in my opinion. Now, they're good singers, but it's so random I burst out laughing in the first episode when Joshua started singing, I thought it was a joke at first but then it happened in the next episode too, and further research showed that apparently it will happen in all 13 glorious episodes.

Now, even though this anime is cheesy, stereotypical, random, confusing, weird, funny, cheesy, cheesy, with a side of cheese (did I mention it's cheesy?) it's strangely fun to watch and I'd actually recommend it to those who are looking for something to watch while they're really bored and have absolutely nothing else to do.

(How did this turn into an anime review? XD)

Biggest WTF!? moments so far (spoilers may follow, beware!):

-In episode two when Yuuta decides to go back into the school to find the missing gem even though he's been expelled, and for some reason he has to take all his clothes off, hang them on a tree, and change into something else.
-In episode two when Yuuta runs into the creepy guy with black hair and glasses in the forest and he starts talking about something that has to do with arteries and heart beats and mental disorders.
-The first episode when Joshua started singing.
-When Yuuta found it necessary to say everyone's name after they greeted him in the morning.
-In Episode one when guy whose name still eludes me is talking normally and then solemnly says "I'll never be head of the family" (or something to that effect)

As I watch more, I'll add more WTF!? moments.

Happy New Years and New Vlog!

Ah! I haven't posted here in so long!

It's already 2010, Happy New Years everyone!

My new years resolutions are as follows:

1. Exercise for at least one hour at least once a week (hopefully more!)
2. Get to the hard level of guitar hero
3. Stop obsessing so much over things
4. Focus more on school work
5. Get to sleep earlier (not going to happen...)
6. Put up a video for my vlog at least once a week

There are probably more that I'm not thinking of, but oh well~

Also! I have a new vlog. Everyone check it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/anneaudefeu (or click on the title of this post)

One last thing before I finish off this blog, I might possibly be going to Japan this summer as an exchange student for 6 weeks. I still have to finish applying, and I can only go if I get a scholarship, but wish me luck!
